Learn to spot the fastest lines every time your tires hit the dirt!
I specialize in coaching for motivated and competitive Junior, Expert & Sport riders, teaching how to take seconds, and in some cases minutes, off their race times. Our first training sessions will focus on honing bike basics, with an emphasis on form and balance. From there we will develop a customized training program that works through the mechanics of every move, breaking down each skill/challenge we encounter to help you get through your next race run faster and with greater control. I coach clients from all over Southern California and host group bike trips in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and Santa Cruz.
My aim is to help you achieve mastery over your bike so you can confidently pursue your riding goals from the top of the mountain to the top of the podium.
A few key certifications that help me keep us safe and focused while having fun on the trails:
BICP Level II Coach - The Bike Instructor Certification Program (BICP) is a global professional training and certification organization. The Bike Instructor Certification Program was built on proven methods developed over nearly two decades, and was created to establish a standard for mountain bike skills instructor training.
Wilderness First Aid Certified - The goal of this certificate is to be trained to deal with medical situations while out on adventures and while private coaching. National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) is a nonprofit global wilderness school dedicated to teaching environmental ethics, technical outdoors skills, wilderness medicine, risk management, judgment, and leadership using a combination of classroom study and extended wilderness expeditions.
Safe Sport Training Certified – As part of my support for TEAM USA (US Olympic and Paralympic Committee) I have also completed certifications they require for engaging with athletes. The U.S. Center for SafeSport is an independent non-profit committed to building a sport community where participants can work and learn together free of emotional, physical and sexual abuse or misconduct.
Park Tool Mechanic Certified - In order to be able to handle the biggest breaks during clinics and during private lessons, I received this certificate to help with hands-on maintenance at a repair certification program taught by a Park Tool experts.

...Eric was an amazing coach throughout the day giving us immediate feedback, positive support, and making us feel as though we were passing levels and making huge strides in our riding abilities, all while having an absolute blast. This class makes me feel not only a lot more confident to go riding with friends on more advanced trails, but maybe even to sign up for a race one day.
Eric has a great coaching plan which starts with slow cone drills to establish proper body-bike separation, followed by application to actual corners. I felt safe enough to push to and through my comfort levels with respect to speed. The instant feedback with videos are HUGE!
Coming into the class, there was no such thing as a fast flat corner for me. It was all brakes and then a turn of the bars. Eric showed us proper technique to take a corner confident and fast with some times not even braking at all. The class definitely sharpened my MTB skills to where I'm actively using individual techniques learned and applying them in my riding today.
Eric is a MTB whisperer! His laid back style combined with his direct and honest feedback, create and environment where you can learn what's possible on your bike. If you want to get faster, go see Eric!
Great training focused on cornering and speed. It allowed me to hone in on one specific area where I could get a lot of return on investment!
Before this class I was taking turns almost flat and way under speed. The education and practice this course has provided me with has changed my whole riding style. I will never look at a turn the same way again.
