GREEN

- You own a mountain bike/E-MTB and have ridden off-road 5 - 8 times in the last year. 

- You haven’t been on any mountain bike/E-MTB ride that lasts more than 3 hours.

- You take your bike to the bike shop for all repairs, including tire changes. 


You tell yourself you don’t need a mountain bike coach because riding a mountain bike isn’t that hard. 

BLUE

- You ride 2 - 4 times a month during fair weather. 

- You can climb over 2,000ft (600m) on a mountain bike/E-MTB in a single ride. 

- You confidently descend and climb what others would consider a steep grade. 

- You perform basic maintenance on your own mountain bike/E-MTB.


You tell yourself you don’t need a mountain bike coach because you just don’t ride enough and if you only rode more you would be a lot better. 

DIAMOND

- You ride 2 – 3 times a week for most of the year. 

- You have ridden more than 2,000 miles in the last 12 months. 

- You are confident riding over obstacles, logs, and rocks up to 1.5’ in size.

- You perform maintenance and basic repairs on your own mountain bike. 


You tell yourself you don’t need a mountain bike coach because you’ve read all the books and you just need to get out on the trail to put it into practice. 

DOUBLE DIAMOND

- You ride 4 – 5 days a week regardless of the weather.

- You are confident riding over obstacles, logs, and rocks up to 3’ in size. 

- You compete in races regularly or ride with others that race regularly.

- You perform maintenance and more advanced repairs on your own mountain bike. 


You tell yourself you don’t need a mountain bike coach because you know most of the things you do wrong.
